Graphic Design + Storytelling Internship 

Starting from September, preferably for 6 months (3 months min)

Minimum 3 days a week, based in Amsterdam. 


Hi there! We are looking for a creative storyteller with graphic design skills to work with us on developing the story of Makers Unite and its influential programs. Next to this, you will be working with the communications team to develop the Makers Unite brand manual. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a dynamic multidisciplinary team from all over the world.


In close collaboration with the Art Director and team, you will: 

- Develop a storytelling methodology for the Makers Unite programs. 

- Execute the developed methodology in agreement with team. 

- Work with the design team to develop the Makers Unite brand manual. 

- Create templates for offline and online marketing material. 

- Assist in overall MU tasks.


You are: 

- Enrolled in the last year of your studies or just graduated within Visual Design or Graphic Design. 

- An empathetic storyteller and ready to learn more. 

- Have profound design skills with a solid portfolio of several design projects. 

- Familiar with the following tools, such as: Indesign, Illustrator, Photoshop. 

- A problem solver that uses a creative approach. 

- Able to communicate in English fluently. (Arabic/Dutch are a BIG bonus) 

 - Most importantly, you know how to share stories with the world and have a keen interest in social issues around the world.

Networking + Matchmaking Internship 

Starting from September, preferably for 6 months (3 months min) Minimum 3 days a week, based in Amsterdam. 


Hi there! We are looking for a natural born networker and matchmaker to work with us ​to connect professional creatives coming from over 12 countries to the creative industry in The Netherlands. ​You will work together with the team to expand our growing network and find as many opportunities as possible to connect newcomers to their next professional step: education, traineeship or employment within the creative industries in the Netherlands. ​(By newcomers we mean people relatively new to the Netherlands who are affected by war or humanitarian or economic struggles in their home county). T​his is a unique opportunity to be part of a dynamic, multidisciplinary team from all over the world who together shape the future of Makers Unite.


During your internship, you will: 

- Set up a mapping system of the creative industry in the Netherlands. 

- Go out and network, acting as an ambassador for Makers Unite. 

- Connect to our newcomers to see what the best next step will be for them.- Encourage individuals & companies to open up opportunities for newcomers. 

- Guide interested organisations & companies in connecting with the newcomers. 

- Guide our newcomers to connect with organisations & companies. 

- Support our team in entering data in our system to improve matchmaking. 


You are: 

- Enrolled in the last year of your studies or just graduated within Design management, Communications, Anthropology or Humanitarian fields. 

- Interested in the socio-political background of newcomers. 

- Patient and assertive. 

- Know how to solve a problem with a creative approach. 

- Don’t know everything, yet, but you are more than eager to learn! 

- Have a keen understanding and a budding network in the Dutch Creative industry. 

- Able to communicate in Dutch and English fluently. Arabic language skills are a bonus!
